Preparation of Trademark Applications

We often can relatively rapidly determine if a mark is likely to be deemed federally registerable, and prepare and file a suitable trademark application.

  1. Generally, the steps for preparing a federal trademark application are:
  2. Determine the mark and the associated goods/services;
  3. Identify the type of mark for which to seek registration;
  4. Determine the International Classification(s) for the mark;
  5. Draft an identification of the goods/services associated with the mark;
  6. Obtain and analyze a Registerability Search;
  7. Adjust the classifications and/or identifications as necessary; and
  8. Complete and file an electronic application.
